hear it in the stairwell:Sandra McCracken
I had two job interviews yesterday. One I'd really like and I have a second interview set up--full tuition reimbursement and a nice sign on bonus. The other offered me a position on the spot but I don't want it. I haven't officially turned it down yet.
I also broke a bone in my foot. Yeah, it hurts like a mother. Marathon "training" will be delayed. I worked out on the elliptical machine yesterday-- the heap-of-metal-sorry-excuse-for-a-treadmill was not a satisfactory challenge and still hurt my foot so I skipped out on my gym visit today.
So I'm bored this morning...it's too early to study and I wasn't meeting Mattlevi until around 11a.m.. I decided that since I wasn't sure when I'd see my sister again and I wanted a haircut, I'd be my impulsive self and do it myself. I didn't even wet it (haircutting mistake #1) and just started chopping. I admittedly had trouble with the back and it is nowhere near even anywhere but I like it. About 2 1/2 inches of hair all piled up on the bathroom floor later, I'm sporting a new, incredibly choppy haircut. Tell me you like it when you see me.
After Levi and Apen visited with the massive dog Mattlevi was sitting, Carter, we headed out to Central Perk (yes, I know it's incredibly cheese that they stole the name from friends). It's a british tea room owned by a random friend, Mike. Mike asked me if I had watched Letterman the night before. Suprisingly, I had. The guest was a climber that had a horrible climbing tragedy and wrote a book/movie about it. Mike asked me about it because he considers me a "fellow climber", he might even think I'm good. How cool is it to exchange cool climbing stories and facts with climbers! Climb on.
For all of you Daytonians, Damien Rice is here April 10th and Kristi and I are going. If you're interested, let me know! It's at Bogarts.
And for any of you who may be interested in getting the inside scoop on this past weekends roadtripping, let me know. Bryan and I kept a pretty cool road journal that I may or may not let you read:)
More trip pics (for Jon)...
Bryan getting his butt checked out by a creepy bowler at the Hall of Fame in St. Louis
Me grabbing the dorsal fin of an oblivious worker at the aquarium in Chicago
Freezing our butts off on the Magnificent Mile
I need to study.
