hear it in the stairwell: Over the Rhine- Ohio
I had my parents and grandparents over for brunch today. I woke up much earlier than I would like, made the house mom-approved and wait for them to arrive, breakfast in hand...I don't cook:). The doorbell rings and my dad's first words are "have you seen your car?" Yes, not only am I sporting a taped-on wheel well, I now have a gloriously flat tire. Quite possibly the flattest tire I've ever seen. I am glad that my dad and brother were already there because without any roommates to offer assistance, I would have been lost on changing the tire and they would have had to make the trip down to my house to rescue me. They put my spare on. I think it's under some soft of warranty so I need to take my jeep in Monday. Lovely.
This evening Phil and I ran to the mall; I still had Christmas shopping to do. But I did manage to find the perfect pair of new running shoes! YES!
But as I was leaving the fairfield area and as I got on Rt. 4 from 444 I was taken by one of the most amazing sunsets I've seen in a while. Looking over Eastwood Lake I could see the entire skyline, all of the buildings were glowing orange. And the smoke lines from crossing airplanes were scattered all over the horizon-they were all such amazing shades of yellow, orange and red. God never ceases to amaze me with the simple things like the sunset on December 27th.
Gift exchange with big family tonight then maybe LOTR 2 later!
Psalm 50:2 From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.
